.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1021 PM EDT Sun Apr 28 2024
The Florida Keys remain on the southwestern flank of a large
anticyclone now centered east of the Carolinas. East winds remain
20 to 25 knots at the Reef, although occasional lulls have fallen
into the 15 to 20 knot range. For the second night in a row,
showers are on the scope. As opposed to the narrow axis last
night, widely scattered showers this evening have been in broad
swaths. The moisture depth on the 00Z KKEY RAOB has decreased
over the past 24-hours, but still remains adequate. This is a sign
of things to come. As we approach summer, any of the easterly wind
surges will hold showers as the boisterous BL gains theta-e from
the warming Atlantic-side waters. The forecast calls for 20% rain
chances overnight with lows in the mid 70s. No changes are needed
with the inherited forecast.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1021 PM EDT Sun Apr 28 2024
Small Craft Advisories remain in effect for all coastal waters of
the Florida Keys due to east winds 20 to 25 knots, and seas up to
8 feet in the Straits. A sprawling high pressure system centered
southeast of New England will maintain fresh to occasionally
strong easterly breezes tonight. As the high presses south into
the western North Atlantic, breezes will slacken, although
occasionally fresh breezes will continue through the first half of
the week. The aforementioned high moves east further into the mid
to late week resulting in peaking and lulling easterly breezes.
