Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central for Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
321 AM CDT Mon Mar 25 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Wintry precipitation and strong gusty winds of 45 to 55 mph or higher are
expected across all of central and western Nebraska today into tonight.
Otherwise, fire weather concerns will be low through the first part if the
week with wet fuels from recent precipitation/snowfall and cold temperatures
well below normal. There may be a window for elevated fire weather
conditions by Thursday west of Hwy 83 as fuels dry, temperatures warm,
and afternoon humidity dips close to 20 percent or lower. Humidity
increases as our next system brings a chance for wetting precipitation
for the end of the week and into the weekend.
