Flood Statement

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...Wisconsin...

  Rock River At Afton affecting Rock and Winnebago Counties.

  Rock River Near Lebanon-3 E-HWY MM Bridge affecting Dodge County.

  Fox River Lower Near New Munster affecting Lake and Kenosha
  Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

The next statement will be issued this afternoon at 430 PM CDT.

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Rock River at Afton.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 9.1 feet, Floodwaters affect property of a home on
  South Christian Road on the east side of the river in the Afton
  area.  There is minor erosional flood damage to lowland and
  agricultural land in the Afton and Janesville areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 3:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 9.0 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 3:00 AM CDT Tuesday was 9.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 9.2
    feet tomorrow morning.
  - Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    9.2 feet on 03/14/1944.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Fox River Lower near New Munster.

* WHEN...Until Friday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 12.2 feet, Water is up to the first floor levels of
  some homes in the Town of Wheatland and Village of Salem Lakes
  area along Riverside Drive and Shorewood Drive.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 3:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 12.3 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 3:00 AM CDT Tuesday was 12.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    early Friday afternoon and continue falling to 10.0 feet
    Monday evening.
  - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
