WASHINGTON DC...RONALD REAGAN WASHINGTON NATIONAL AIRPORT...

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE IN APRIL WAS BELOW NORMAL. IT WAS THE
COLDEST APRIL SINCE 2007, WHEN THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 53.6
DEGREES.

MONTHLY PRECIPITATION WAS 117 PERCENT OF NORMAL. IT WAS THE WETTEST
APRIL SINCE 2014, WHEN 6.47 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION FELL.

MONTHLY SNOWFALL WAS NORMAL. IT WAS THE SNOWIEST APRIL SINCE 2016,
WHEN A TRACE OF SNOW FELL.

A DAILY RECORD HIGH MINIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 60 DEGREES WAS TIED ON
APRIL 13TH. THIS TIED THE OLD RECORD PREVIOUSLY SET IN 1945.

CLIMATE RECORDS HAVE BEEN KEPT AT RONALD REAGAN WASHINGTON NATIONAL
AIRPORT SINCE JUNE OF 1941. ADDITIONAL TEMPERATURE RECORDS FOR THE
WASHINGTON DC AREA OBSERVED DOWNTOWN EXTEND BACK TO JANUARY OF 1872,
WITH PRECIPITATION RECORDS EXTENDING BACK TO JANUARY OF 1871 AND
SNOWFALL RECORDS EXTENDING BACK TO JANUARY OF 1884.
