THE MONTH OF MARCH IN FARGO WAS SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL WITH RESPECT
TO ATMOSPHERIC TEMPERATURE AND WETTER AND SNOWIER THAN AVERAGE. LIQUID
EQUIVALENT PRECIPITATION WAS NEARLY TWO INCHES, TWO THIRDS OF AN INCH ABOVE
AVERAGE. THE SNOWFALL TOTAL OF 19.0 INCHES WAS THE THIRD HIGHEST ON RECORD, THE
PERIOD OF INSPECTION DATING BACK TO 1885. ONLY MARCH OF 2009 AND 1997 RECEIVED
MORE SNOWFALL WITH 28.1 AND 26.2 INCHES, RESPECTIVELY. THE HIGHEST DAILY
PRECIPITATION AMOUNT OF 0.89 INCHES ON THE 5TH WAS DUE LARGELY TO RAIN AND
EARLY SEASON THUNDERSTORMS MIXED WITH WET SNOW AND SLEET.

REMEMBER...THIS DATA IS PROVISIONAL AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE. THE
FINAL AND OFFICIAL RECORDS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM THE NATIONAL
CENTERS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION (FORMERLY THE NATIONAL
CLIMATIC DATA CENTER).
