Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
259 PM EDT Sat May 26 2018

.DISCUSSION...Through the daytime Sunday, scattered showers and
thunderstorms are expected during times of peak heating. A weak
nighttime inversion will develop late this evening, and persist
through early morning. Dispersion will be fair early this evening,
then become poor for the overnight hours.

Fog potential for tonight: There will be patchy fog late tonight into
early Sunday morning, mainly in areas of recent rain and near river
valleys.

Surface winds Sunday will be from the south-southeast around 5 mph
after daybreak, then increase to 5 to 10 mph by afternoon. Transport
winds will be similar in direction around 10 mph. Relative humidities
will drop into the 55 to 65 percent range outside of showers.

Atmospheric moisture will become enhanced Sunday night through
Monday night associated with the circulation around Subtropical
Storm Alberto in the east-central Gulf. As a result, widespread
showers are expected.
