Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
204 PM CDT Wed May 23 2018

.DISCUSSION...

A weak ridge of high pressure at the surface and aloft will keep
shower and thunderstorm development quite limited on Thursday
afternoon. Isolated activity is possible. Otherwise, a warm and
humid day is expected with fair to generally good smoke dispersion
and mixing heights climbing above 6500 ft AGL.

On Friday, low level flow will become more southerly allowing
deeper layer moisture to return northward. Scattered showers
and thunderstorms will develop during the afternoon, some with
locally heavy downpours, frequent lightning and gusty winds.
Some of these thunderstorms will linger into the evening hours
before a diminishing trend. Fair smoke dispersion are expected
Friday with mixing heights climbing above 7000 ft agl.

A wet and stormy weather pattern will persist over the weekend
into early next week.

Fog potential over the next few days: Patchy early morning fog is
possible over the next few days.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: Not expected.
