Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwestern California
National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA

...Gusty onshore winds across the Los Angeles mountains and
Antelope Valley through Saturday...

.DISCUSSION...
An upper level trough of low pressure will evolve into a
cutoff low pressure system that is expected to move across
Central and Southern California Friday into early Saturday.
This will maintain strong onshore flow and a deep marine
layer pattern, with low clouds and fog pushing well into the coastal
slopes each night and morning through this weekend. The marine layer
is expected to deepen to around 5000 feet by Friday morning,
generating areas of drizzle and light rain, mainly along the coastal
slopes and foothills. This pattern will maintain cool temperatures
and high humidities from the mountains to the coast. Gusty onshore
winds will continue across the Los Angeles county mountains and
Antelope Valley through Saturday, with gusts generally in the 35 to 45 mph
range each afternoon and evening, except isolated gusts up to 55 mph
near Lake Palmdale. Increasing sundowner winds are expected over
southern Santa Barbara County Friday evening, then slightly
stronger by Saturday evening, when gusts over 40 mph are possible.
