URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Albuquerque NM
227 PM MDT Sat May 4 2024

...RED FLAG WARNING SUNDAY FROM NOON UNTIL 10 PM FORE MUCH OF THE
CENTRAL AND WESTERN PORTION OF THE FORECAST AREA DUE TO STRONG
WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH MONDAY FROM 11 AM UNTIL 10 PM ALONG AND
EAST OF THE NORTH CENTRAL MOUNTAINS AND MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY,
AND FROM 3 PM UNTIL 10 PM FOR AREAS FARTHER WEST, DUE TO STRONG
WIND AND LOW HUMIDITY...

.A weather pattern conducive for large fire growth will develop
Sunday and continue through Wednesday as a broad trough develops
over the western United States keeping the flow over New Mexico
dry and windy. The strongest winds and critically low relative
humidity values Sunday will favor the central mountain chain and
northeast highlands westward. Then, relative humidity plummets
over eastern areas as well on Monday. Winds will strengthen over
central and eastern areas late Monday morning, but not until mid
afternoon farther west.
