Spot Forecast for Second Chance
National Weather Service Missoula MT
906 PM MDT Sun Apr 14 2024

Forecast is based on ignition time of 1700 MDT on April 14.
If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather
Service.

.DISCUSSION...Showers are in the area and expected to end between
2100 and 2200 MDT tonight. Peak intensity of the showers is
expected in the next few hours by 1900. With a lack of steering
flow aloft, they have remained stationary with most showers
anchored over the highest terrain, especially south of the burn
area along I-90.

Tomorrow will see an increase in winds through the day and lasting
into Tuesday. Especially near the ridge top, the winds are not
expected to decrease much overnight Monday night into Tuesday.
Temperatures tomorrow will be about 10 to 15 degrees cooler than
today with humidity in the upper 20s near the bottom of the burn
area.

UPDATE as of 2100 MDT, April 14th. The Lolo Portable #2 RAWS
station reports 0.16 inches of rain which agrees well with radar
estimates for that location. Further north near the lat-lon
submitted for this spot forecast the radar estimates 0.03 to 0.08
inches of rain so far this evening.
