DISCUSSION:

A weak weather system will bring a chance of rain to northern areas
through Friday, then a more significant storm system is expected for
late Friday through the weekend. With the first system, rainfall
amounts will be less than a quarter inch. By late Friday, periods of
heavy rain and mountain snow are possible as the storm`s cold front
enters the region. Brief heavy downpours are possible late Friday
through Sunday when there is a slight chance of thunderstorms.
Rainfall amounts remain consistent for 1.50-3.00 inches for coast
and valleys and up to 5.00 inches along the south facing mountains.
A foot or two of snow is possible above 6000 feet, with accumulating
down to as low as 4500 feet. The snow level could locally lower to
4000 feet with any convective showers.
