Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co

.Discussion...

Overnight through Tuesday evening, a chance of rain and snow showers
will spread south across the district. The snow showers will mainly
be confined to the higher mountain areas this evening but could lower
to around 6,000 feet late tonight through Tuesday evening. At this
time, only light accumulations are expected. Gusty north winds will
spread south through the plains tonight. They will reach northern
El Paso County by late evening and then spread south across the
rest of the plains overnight into Tuesday.

Wednesday through Saturday, temperatures will return to near or
above average. There`ll be a chance for afternoon and evening
thunderstorms each day, primarily in and near the mountains.

Critical fire weather conditions are not currently expected through
Saturday. However, they may return Sunday and Monday.

Afternoon ventilation rates will generally be good or better over
the plains, the San Luis Valley, the Upper Arkansas Valley
and the Continental Divide Tuesday. However, most of Teller
County, Fremont County, the Wets and the Sangre de Cristos
will see only poor ventilation. On Wednesday, rates will
be good or better in most areas but most of El Paso, Pueblo
and eastern Fremont Counties will see only poor to fair
ventilation.
