Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
403 AM MDT Tue Apr 17 2018

...A Red Flag Warning remains in effect from 10 AM until 8 PM
Tuesday for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels for
fire weather zones 221, 222 and 224 through 237, which includes
all of the southeast Colorado plains, Teller County, Fremont
County, the lower slopes of the Sangre de Cristo and Wet
Mountains and the San Luis Valley...

.Discussion...

A very windy and dry day is in store for the area today, with High Wind
Warnings and Red Flag warnings in place. The only area that is expected
to see some precipitation today, is the mountains along the Continental
Divide, mainly the Sawatch and Mosquito ranges.

Wednesday will be a dry day, with less wind and therefore lower fire
danger. The winds increase again on Thursday, increasing the fire danger,
but humidities may be marginal. At this time, it looks like the San
Luis Valley could see humidities low enough for a fire weather highlight.

Friday and Saturday a strong weather system will move across the
region, bringing the potential for widespread precipitation.

Excellent smoke dispersion is expected today across the region, with good
to very good dispersion Wednesday afternoon.
