Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
250 PM MDT Fri May 25 2018

...A Red Flag Warning has been issued from Noon until 9 pm MDT
Saturday for gusty winds, low humidity, and dry fuels for fire
weather zones 220 through 230, which includes all areas from the
I-25 corridor and westward to the Continental Divide...

...A Fire Weather Watch has been issued from late Sunday morning
through Sunday evening for gusty winds, low humidity, and dry
fuels for fire weather zones 220 through 230, which includes all
areas from the I-25 corridor and westward to the Continental
Divide...

.Discussion...

Hot, dry and windy conditions can be expected on Saturday and a Red
Flag Warning is in effect from the I-25 corridor and westward, where the
fuels are considered to be dry. Record or near record highs are expected.

Sunday will be another very warm and windy day, and a Fire Weather
Watch is in effect from the I-25 corridor and westward. Most areas
will be dry on Sunday, but there could be some thunderstorms over
mainly the far southeast plains.

There could be a few thunderstorms on Monday along the Continental Divide,
the Pikes Peak area and the far southeast plains. It will be very warm
again, and the San Luis Valley, the far southeast plains and the southern
I-25 corridor are expected to have breezy to windy conditions. These winds
combined with low humidity may mean another critical fire weather day for
the San Luis Valley and the southern I-25 corridor.

Less wind and slightly higher humidities on Tuesday and Wednesday may mean
a break in the critical fire weather conditions.

Most locations should have excellent smoke dispersion Saturday afternoon.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
