.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 425 AM EDT Mon Apr 29 2024
Feels like a bit of deja vu across the Florida Keys as another
breezy and muggy night comes to an end. Similar to last night,
there`s been just enough low level moisture to support a few
shallow showers crossing over the island chain. Currently, fresh
to occasionally strong easterly breezes continue to drag brief
bouts of precipitation across portions of the Lower Keys. As a
result, temperatures across the island chain range in the lower to
mid 70s with near steady dewpoints in the mid 60s.

We`ll finally see some relief from breezier conditions later today
as the high pressure controlling our wind pattern sinks southeast
into the western North Atlantic. Slackening winds will reduce the
speed convergence that has been sustaining the previously
mentioned shallow showers. Looking upstream on CIMSS MIMIC PW, a
mass of drier air over the Bahamas looks progged to advect in
towards our area today. As such, have opted to stay with dime PoPs
(basically normal at this time of year) for today and tonight.

No significant changes to our sensible weather are in the pipeline
for the rest of the forecast. The progressive wave currently in
the Midwest CONUS will shift east passing north of our area with
little fanfare in South Florida. Easterly breezes will prevail,
first influenced the high pressure in the Atlantic before ridging
sets back up along the Eastern Seaboard in the back half of the
week. Throughout the work week, highs will reach up to the mid 80s
with lows in the mid 70s. With no real airmass or wind direction
changes, slight chance PoPs will continue throughout the forecast
period as well.

.MARINE...
Issued at 425 AM EDT Mon Apr 29 2024
A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for all Florida Keys coastal
waters. From synopsis, a sprawling high pressure system centered
southeast of New England will maintain fresh to occasionally
strong easterly breezes early this morning. As the high presses
south into the western North Atlantic, breezes will slacken,
although occasionally fresh breezes will continue through the
first half of the week. The aforementioned high moves east further
into the mid to late week resulting in peaking and lulling
easterly breezes.
