Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central for Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
323 PM CDT Wed May 1 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Showers and thunderstorms will develop this evening, with heavy rainfall
possible across zones 209 and 219. Thursday afternoon, following the
passage of a cold front, northwesterly winds 15 to 30 mph will coincide
with areas of minimum relative humidity around 20 percent across zones
204 and 210. This may lead to some elevated fire weather conditions, with
the main question being how much the recent precipitation will impact
fire weather conditions.

Chances of precipitation remain almost every day through next
Wednesday, with a slight break from precipitation chances Saturday
morning through Sunday afternoon. Relative humidity values will remain
above critical thresholds during this period as well.
