...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN BUTTE...WEST
CENTRAL MEADE AND NORTHEASTERN LAWRENCE COUNTIES THROUGH 600 PM
MDT...

At 520 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Whitewood, or 8 miles northwest of Sturgis. This thunderstorm was
nearly stationary.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern Butte,
west central Meade and northeastern Lawrence Counties.

This includes Interstate 90 in South Dakota between Mile Markers 8
and 30.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
