The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
  Northeastern Crittenden County in eastern Arkansas...
  North central DeSoto County in northwestern Mississippi...
  Shelby County in southwestern Tennessee...

* Until 600 PM CDT.

* At 402 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported heavy rain in
  Southaven due to thunderstorms. Heavy rain with little storm
  motion will cause urban and small stream flooding throughout
  portions of the Memphis metro area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Bartlett, Southaven, Germantown, Olive Branch, West Memphis, Horn
  Lake, Millington, T O Fuller State Park, Meeman Shelby Forest State
  Park, Walls, Southwest Memphis, Lynchburg, Ellendale, Southeast
  Memphis, Downtown Memphis, Whitehaven, Frayser, Midtown Memphis,
  Atoka and Mound City.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
