Spot Forecast for South Monroe
National Weather Service Salt Lake City UT
438 AM MDT Thu Apr 26 2018

.DISCUSSION...High pressure will remain over the area today,
resulting in dry and mild conditions with generally light
northwesterly winds. This ridge will shift east tomorrow ahead of
an approaching storm system, allowing southerly winds to
increase, resulting in excellent mixing. Increased instability in
the environment ahead of the system will allow for widely
scattered showers to develop, primarily during the late afternoon
and early evening.

The system and associated cold front will move into northwest Utah
by Saturday afternoon. At the burn site, winds will increase
further for Saturday though with a bit less instability, afternoon
showers will be more isolated. The front is then expected to move
through the northwest third of Utah by Sunday afternoon before
stalling. As a result, southerly winds will remain elevated ahead
of it at the burn site with a slight increase in relative humidity
and cloud cover and a slight decrease in temperatures.

Considerable uncertainty exists as to when the cold front will
move through the burn site, but it should occur between Monday
morning and Tuesday morning. This will bring a more noticeable
increase in relative humidity and cloud cover as high temperatures
continue to fall. Relatively cool and unsettled weather is
expected to continue through Wednesday before high pressure moves
back in.
