...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT SOUTHWESTERN GREENUP AND CENTRAL
CARTER COUNTIES...

At 947 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Gesling, or 9
miles north of Carter Caves State Park, moving southeast at 25 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Grayson, Olive Hill, Grayson Lake State Park, Carter Caves State
Park, Gesling, Oldtown, Carter, Grahn, Hopewell, Brushart and
Warnock.

This includes Interstate 64 in Kentucky between mile markers 160 and
177.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
