.DISCUSSION...
Significant fire weather concerns are not anticipated today
or Wednesday. Areas of drizzle and rain showers this morning
will transition to scattered thunderstorm activity this
afternoon and evening. Rainfall will dissipate tonight, then
isolated showers and storms are expected in northern Georgia
Wednesday afternoon. Most areas should see rain totals in the
0.10 to 0.40 inch range through Wednesday, however isolated
totals closer to an inch may occur with any thunderstorms.
Minimum humidity values will remain elevated today (above 70
percent). Conditions will be drier on Wednesday, but relative
humidity values should remain above 45 percent. Winds will be
from a southeasterly direction this morning, then southwest
winds will develop this afternoon. A shift to westerly winds
will occur on Wednesday. Mixing heights will be near 2000 ft
AGL today and 3500 ft AGL Wednesday. Transport winds will be
in the 8 to 20 mph range over the next 36 hours.
