With recent rains, the fire danger will continue to remain low for the next several days. Today will start out dry before showers move in later this afternoon into tonight. At the time of ignition, the sky will be clear, temperatures will be in the low 50s, dew point will be in the upper 30s, and relative humidity (RH) will be around 55%. Winds will be westerly at around 5 mph with gusts 10-15 mph. Remnants of the morning inversion remain in place, with mixing heights around 900 ft above ground level (AGL). As a result, smoke will be held close to the surface. The inversion is expected to continue to mix out, and by noon should be around 1400 ft AGL, reaching a peak mixing height of 5000 ft AGL by 4pm. Clouds will increase through the day and will be mostly cloudy by mid afternoon. Winds will be westerly but varying north and south through the morning as a cold front approaches. It is expected to pass through the area between noon and 2 pm. Winds then become northerly and increase to around 10 mph sustained with gusts between 15 and 20 mph. Rain showers are expected to follow the front, and will begin between 3-5 pm. Showers are expected to be clear of the area after 7 am. Rain totals are expected to be between 0.5 and 0.75 inches. Maximum temperature for this afternoon will be in the low 60s, with an overnight minimum of mid 30s. Dew points are expected to increase to the low 40s through Saturday morning.
