This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of Central Kansas,
South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Strong south winds gusting to 40 mph at times will fuel very high
grassfire danger this afternoon and evening over portions of central
and south-central Kansas.

An isolated thunderstorm or two is possible between about 5 PM and
11 PM this evening west of I-135. If a storm or two is able to form
and sustain itself, it will be capable of large hail, damaging
winds, and a few tornadoes.

After about 11 PM and extending through the rest of tonight,
scattered thunderstorm chances should gradually increase from west
to east across the eastern half of Kansas. This activity will be
capable of 50 to 70 mph winds winds, marginally severe hail, and
perhaps an isolated tornado.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

Strong southwest to westerly winds gusting up to 45 mph will fuel
very high to extreme grassfire danger Tuesday for areas mainly west
of the Kansas Turnpike.

Periodic chances for showers and thunderstorms are forecast
Wednesday night through Saturday. The threat for severe weather is
low at this time.

Temperatures Friday night and Saturday night could drop into the low
to mid 30s over mainly central Kansas. These chilly temperatures may
damage sensitive outdoor vegetation.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed after 5 PM this evening, mainly
west of I-135.
