Flood Statement

...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Indiana...Ohio...

  Saint Marys River near Decatur affecting Adams, Van Wert and
  Allen IN Counties.

  Tiffin River at Stryker affecting Williams, Fulton OH and
  Defiance Counties.

For the Saint Marys River...including Decatur, St. Mary`s River near
Fort Wayne...Minor flooding is forecast.
For the Tiffin River...including Stryker...Minor flooding is
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The next statement will be issued late tonight at 345 AM EDT.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Saint Marys River near Decatur.

* WHEN...Until Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 18.5 feet, County Road 225 North...just north of
  Pleasant Mills Indiana is closed by flood water. Low land areas of
  Kekionga Park on the southeast side of Decatur begin flooding.
  Flooding is limited to farm land in Pleasant Mills Indiana and
  Willshire Ohio.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:10 AM EDT Monday the stage was 18.1 feet and steady.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 9:10 AM EDT Monday was 18.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 18.2
    feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage
    tomorrow afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

* WHEN...Until early Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Flooding of lowland areas around Stryker
  can be expected.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:00 AM EDT Monday the stage was 11.4 feet and falling.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 9:00 AM EDT Monday was 11.7 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    just after midnight tonight and continue falling to 6.1 feet
    Saturday morning.
  - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
