...FLOOD ADVISORY IS CANCELLED...

The Flood Advisory is cancelled for a portion of central North
Carolina, including the following areas, Davidson, Montgomery and
Randolph.

The heavy rain has ended and flooding is no longer expected to pose
a threat. However, there may still be ponding on area roadways and
elevated water levels on area creeks and streams. Please continue to
heed remaining road closures.

...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 PM EDT THIS
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by prolonged moderate to heavy rainfall
  continues.

* WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the
  following county, Stanly.

* WHEN...Until 130 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
  imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1143 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated moderate to heavy
    rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or
    expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Albemarle, Plyler, Locust, Oakboro, Stanfield, Richfield, New
    London and Finger.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
