.SYNOPSIS FOR THE MIDDLE TEXAS COASTAL WATERS...
Northeast winds behind a cold front will become east and gradually
weaken tonight, as the pressure gradient relaxes with the surface
ridge settling over Northeast Texas. A more southerly flow will
develop Friday, as the surface high moves east and low pressure
develops in the Southern Plains in response to an upper level
trough. The onshore flow will become moderate to possibly strong
by Friday night as an upper level disturbance approaches the area.
Chances for showers and thunderstorms will increase Friday night
into Saturday, with highest coverage of storms expected across the
Victoria Crossroads and northern Coastal Bend. Moderate south
winds will develop during the day on Saturday ahead of an
approaching cold front. The cold front will move through the
region late Saturday night into early Sunday morning. Coverage of
showers and thunderstorms will decrease from the west to east
Saturday night into Sunday. A moderate northerly flow will develop
on Sunday, and persist through the first part of next week,
bringing drier and slightly cooler air into the region. Onshore
flow returns by Monday with a gradual warming trend and increasing
humidity. No elevated or critical fire weather conditions are
expected.
