...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN RUSSELL...
SOUTHEASTERN SCOTT AND SOUTHWESTERN WASHINGTON COUNTIES THROUGH 245
PM EDT...

At 217 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10
miles northwest of Walnut Hill, or 12 miles east of Gate City, moving
northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Nickelsville, Benhams, Collingwood, and Hiltons.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Morristown.
