Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Wichita KS
455 AM CDT Mon Apr 16 2018

It`s mid-April but the atmosphere believes otherwise. A sharp ridge
of high pressure knifing from North Dakota to East Texas continued
to inject more record cold air into most of Kansas during the
night. Across the central third of the state, starry skies combined
with light north winds to send most temperatures into the lower and
mid 20s. Across the northeast third of Kansas, extensive low clouds
offset northwest winds around 10 mph to limit temperatures to the
mid 30s.

Much warmer weather returns to the neighborhood today as southerly
winds, increasing to 10 to 20 mph, combine with mostly sunny skies
to send temperatures into the mid 80s across the far southwestern
plains. Highs across the rest of the region should range from near
50 to the lower 60s with the coolest highs across most of Nebraska
and Northern Missouri. Tonight won`t be nearly as cold as southeast
winds from 5 to 15 mph limit lows to the lower 40s across Oklahoma
and Southern Kansas, while northern sections should drop into the
lower 30s.
