OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
906 PM CDT Fri Apr 12 2024

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

The low pressure of 29.1 inches over southwest Quebec will
continue to move away and weaken tonight. The Gale Warning for the
northern one third of the lake is on track to expire at 1 AM CDT.

A surface ridge of 30.2 inches over Minnesota and Iowa will move
across Lake Michigan in the middle of the day on Saturday. Thus
decreasing northwest winds are expected Saturday morning followed
by increasing southerly winds for the afternoon. A passing
wave of low pressure and cold front will then shift winds back
out of the north/northwest by early afternoon Sunday, with light
variable winds expected late Sunday night into Monday. Gusty
southerly winds are then expected to return by late Tuesday over
the open water.
