Open Lake Forecast for Lake Ontario

For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Ontario

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...A 30.0 inch high over eastern New York will slide
across New England and weaken tonight. A warm front will move
northeast across the lake late tonight through Wednesday morning.
A 29.5 inch low over the mid section of the nation Wednesday will
move to the Ohio Valley Thursday then off the east coast Thursday
night and Friday. A weak 29.8 ridge will then slide across the
lake Friday night, with a 29.6 inch trough then forecast to
approach the Lower Great Lakes Saturday.

.REST OF TONIGHT...East winds 5 to 15 knots. A chance of showers
late this evening, then showers with a chance of thunderstorms
after midnight. Waves 1 to 3 feet.
.WEDNESDAY...Southwest winds 5 to 15 knots becoming west 15 to
20 knots. Areas of fog early. A chance of showers early. Waves
1 to 2 feet building to 2 to 4 feet.
.WEDNESDAY NIGHT...West winds 5 to 15 knots becoming northeast.
Waves 2 to 4 feet subsiding to 1 to 2 feet.
.THURSDAY...Northeast winds 15 to 20 knots becoming east 10 to
15 knots. A chance of showers in the morning, then showers likely
in the afternoon. Waves 1 to 2 feet.
.THURSDAY NIGHT...Northeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Showers likely.
Waves 1 to 2 feet.
.FRIDAY...Northeast winds 15 to 20 knots becoming west and
diminishing to 5 to 10 knots. Showers likely during the day, then
a chance of showers Friday night. Waves 1 to 3 feet.
.SATURDAY...West winds 5 to 10 knots becoming southwest. A chance
of showers. Waves around 1 foot.
.SUNDAY...West winds 10 to 15 knots becoming southwest. A chance
of showers. Waves 1 to 2 feet.
