Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...Showers and cooler temperatures will continue at Mount
Rainier National Park until Tuesday. Warmer and drier weather
will return midweek at the park, followed by the potential for a
weak frontal passage over the weekend.

.IMPACTS...Strong winds in alpine regions on the mountain,
including the Muir snowfield, will make it difficult to move
safely and could produce local whiteout conditions. A high level
of skill and experience in alpine terrain, including use of GPS,
is recommended for navigation and camping in these conditions.

.MONDAY NIGHT...Windy. Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of snow in
the evening. A slight chance of rain until early morning. A
chance of snow after midnight. Snow level near 3000 feet
decreasing to 2000 feet after midnight.
.TUESDAY...Partly sunny. A slight chance of snow in the morning,
then a chance of rain and snow in the afternoon. Snow level near
1500 feet.
.TUESDAY NIGHT...Partly cloudy. A slight chance of rain and snow
in the evening. Snow level near 2000 feet. Freezing level near
2500 feet after midnight.
.WEDNESDAY...Sunny. Freezing level near 3500 feet increasing to
5500 feet in the afternoon.
