Fire Weather Planning Forecast for southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri
National Weather Service Springfield MO
145 PM CDT Tue Apr 16 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Gusty southerly wind gusts up to 35 to 50 mph will continue into
this afternoon. The strongest winds will continue to occur west
of Highway 65. Scattered thunderstorms will continue to be
possible this afternoon and evening across the eastern Ozarks.
Another system will then bring additional chances for showers and
a few storms to the area Wednesday night into Friday.

A drier air mass is moving into the area from the west this
afternoon as temperatures rise into the upper 70s to middle 80s.
Afternoon humidity values will drop into the 10 to 25% range
roughly along and west of a line from Table Rock Lake, to
Springfield, to Lake of the Ozarks, resulting in critical fire
weather conditions. East of that line, RH values will be 50-80%
this afternoon.

Above normal temperatures will occur through mid week then cooler
conditions will occur late this week into this weekend.
