the eastward moving dryline/front. SPC currently has portions of
the Big Country, Heartland, and Northwest Hill Country in the

.LONG TERM...
(Monday night through next Sunday)
Issued at 153 PM CDT Sun Mar 24 2024

Unseasonably cold temperatures are forecast across West Central
Texas Tuesday morning. Winds by daybreak should decrease to around 5
mph or less across most of the forecast area. Some cloud cover
may linger across the I-10 corridor, but much of the rest area
should see mostly clear skies. This combination will result in
morning lows in the mid to upper 30s across the northern half of
the area, to the upper 30s to lower 40s across the southern half
of the area. Given the lighter winds that are expected Tuesday
morning, some frost will be possible and a Frost Advisory might
eventually be needed, since most of the region has moved into the
"growing season". Highs on Tuesday will be below normal, in the
60s for most locations. Low temperatures Wednesday morning will
not be quite a cold, with lows generally in the upper 30s to mid
40s.

A steady warm up is then forecast through the weekend, with highs
Wednesday in the mid 60s to lower 70s. Highs on Friday will be back
near 80s and highs this weekend will be well into the 80s and
possibly pushing 90 degrees on Sunday. An upper level trough will
track across the region on Wednesday, bringing a slight chance of
showers and thunderstorms. Rainfall amounts are forecast to remain
light. Otherwise, expect mainly dry conditions through the weekend.
