THE SPRING TREND THIS YEAR OF COOL, CLOUDY, AND FREQUENTLY WET
WEATHER CONTINUED INTO JUNE. AN ACTIVE JET STREAM KEPT NEW STORM
SYSTEMS MOVING NEAR THE REGION EVERY FEW DAYS, EACH BRINGING ANOTHER
ROUND OF RAINFALL. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT OF THESE CAME ON JUNE 20 AND
21 WHEN MORE THAN 1.5 INCHES OF RAIN FELL. SOME WARMER WEATHER WAS
OBSERVED IN THE LAST WEEK OF THE MONTH WHEN THE TEMPERATURE REACHED
80 DEGREES 3 TIMES.

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 63.4 DEGREES WHICH WAS 0.6
DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THE COOLEST JUNE WAS IN 1968 WHEN IT WAS ONLY
59.1 DEGREES. THE WARMEST WAS IN 1999 WHEN IT WAS 69.5 DEGREES.

A TOTAL OF 5.37 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION FELL WHICH WAS 1.81 INCHES
ABOVE NORMAL. THE HEAVIEST RAIN CAME ON JUNE 20 AND 21 WHEN 1.57
INCHES WAS RECORDED. THE WETTEST JUNE WAS IN 1998 WHEN 10.32 INCHES
