.APRIL 2019 WAS COLDER THAN NORMAL WITH ABOVE NORMAL PRECIPITATION
AT BRAINERD MN...

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR APRIL WAS 42.9 DEGREES. THIS WAS 0.8
DEGREES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 43.7 DEGREES. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE
FOR THE MONTH WAS 78 DEGREES ON THE 20TH AND THE 24TH. THE LOWEST
TEMPERATURE WAS 19 DEGREES 14TH. NO DAILY TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE
BROKEN FOR THE MONTH. TWELVE DAYS HAD AVERAGE TEMPERATURES ABOVE
NORMAL.

APRIL 2019 WAS ABOVE NORMAL FOR PRECIPITATION WITH A TOTAL OF 2.39
INCHES OF PRECIPITATION RECORDED FOR THE MONTH. THIS WAS 0.04 INCHES
ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 2.35 INCHES. THE GREATEST DAILY PRECIPITATION

INCHES OF SNOW WAS RECORDED. ONE DAILY SNOWFALL RECORD WAS BROKEN
FOR THE MONTH. ON THE 11TH A RECORD DAILY SNOWFALL OF 7.0 INCHES WAS
RECORDED. THIS BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 6.3 INCHES SET IN 2013.

THE AVERAGE WIND SPEED FOR THE MONTH WAS 7.8 MPH. THE WINDIEST DAY
OF THE MONTH WAS ON THE 21ST WITH AN AVERAGE WIND OF 13.2 MPH. THE
HIGHEST SUSTAINED WIND OCCURRED ON THE 2ND WITH A SPEED OF 28 MPH
OUT OF THE WEST NORTHWEST. A PEAK WIND GUST OF 39 MPH WAS RECORDED
ON THE 2ND OUT OF THE WEST NORTHWEST.

MONTH AND WARM TO THE UPPER 40S BY THE END OF THE MONTH. NORMAL
PRECIPITATION FOR MAY IS 3.37 INCHES. THE LATEST CLIMATE PREDICTION
CENTER OUTLOOK INDICATES THAT ODDS ARE TILTED TOWARD BELOW NORMAL
TEMPERATURES AND THERE IS NO CLEAR SIGNAL FOR ABOVE OR BELOW NORMAL
PRECIPITATION.
