BALTIMORE MD...BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL THURGOOD
MARSHALL AIRPORT...

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE IN APRIL 2019 WAS WELL ABOVE NORMAL. IN
FACT, APRIL 2019 RANKED AS THE FOURTH WARMEST ON RECORD, BEHIND
APRIL 1941 (60.5 DEGREES), APRIL 2017 (60.3 DEGREES) AND APRIL 1994
(59.6 DEGREES). IT WAS THE WARMEST APRIL SINCE 2017.

MONTHLY PRECIPITATION WAS 46 PERCENT OF NORMAL. IT WAS THE DRIEST
APRIL SINCE 2016, WHEN 1.31 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION FELL.

MONTHLY SNOWFALL WAS SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL. IT WAS THE LEAST SNOWY
APRIL SINCE 2018, WHEN NO SNOW FELL.

NO DAILY RECORDS WERE SET DURING APRIL 2019.

WEATHER RECORDS FOR THE BALTIMORE MD AREA HAVE BEEN RECORDED AT WHAT
IS NOW BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL THURGOOD MARSHALL AIRPORT
SINCE 1950. THE OFFICIAL WEATHER RECORD CONSISTS OF THAT DATA BACK
TO 1950, AND OBSERVATIONS TAKEN IN DOWNTOWN BALTIMORE FROM 1871
THROUGH 1949. TEMPERATURE RECORDS FOR THE BALTIMORE MD AREA EXTEND
BACK TO JULY OF 1872. PRECIPITATION RECORDS EXTEND BACK TO JANUARY
OF 1871. SNOWFALL RECORDS BEGAN IN MARCH OF 1892.
