..APRIL 2019 CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR DENVER, WARMER & DRIER THAN NORMAL..

THE FIRST NINE DAYS OF THE MONTH WERE DRY WITH ABOVE NORMAL
TEMPERATURES FROM THE 3RD THROUGH THE 9TH. AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF
HIGH PRESSURE BROUGHT UNSEASONABLY WARM TEMPERATURES ON THE 8TH AND
9TH WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES AT DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT REACHING
76 AND 78 DEGREES RESPECTIVELY. AN UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM AND
ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT BROUGHT COLDER TEMPERATURES ALONG WITH RAIN
AND SNOW TO THE FRONT RANGE URBAN CORRIDOR FROM THE 10TH THROUGH THE
13TH. WARMER AND DRIER WEATHER RETURNED TO THE REGION ON THE 14TH
AND CONTINUED THROUGH THE 20TH. A STRONG UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH
PRESSURE WHICH REBUILT OVER THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN REGION BROUGHT VERY
WARM TEMPERATURES TO NORTHEASTERN COLORADO ON THE 2OTH. DENVER
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT REACHED 80 DEGREES ON THAT DAY WHICH WAS
WARMEST DAY OF THE MONTH AND THE YEAR SO FAR. COOLER UNSETTLED
WEATHER RETURNED TO THE AREA ON THE 21ST AS AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OF
LOW PRESSURE APPROACHED COLORADO FROM THE WEST. SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS AHEAD OF THE TROUGH BROUGHT MUCH NEEDED NEEDED
PRECIPITATION TO MUCH OF NORTHEASTERN COLORADO. A LINE OF
THUNDERSTORMS WHICH MOVED ACROSS DIA DURING THE AFTERNOON PRODUCED
SMALL HAIL, A WIND GUST OF 52 MPH AND 0.82 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION.
DENVER EXPERIENCED MOSTLY DRY WEATHER AND ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES
FROM THE 23RD THROUGH THE 28TH, WITH GUSTY WINDS AT TIMES DUE TO
HIGH BASED DRY THUNDERSTORMS. THE MONTH FINISHED WITH MUCH COLDER
UNSETTLED WEATHER AS ANOTHER STORM SYSTEM AND COLD FRONT MOVED
ACROSS THE REGION.

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE AT DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR HE MONTH
OF APRIL WAS 49.1 DEGREES F, WHICH IS 1.7 DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL
OF 47.4 DEGREES. NO MAXIMUM, MINIMUM, HIGH MINIMUM OR LOW MAXIMUM
TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE SET IN APRIL 2019.
