...MARCH WAS A BIT WARMER AND WETTER THAN NORMAL IN OMAHA...

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 40.3 DEGREES OR 0.8
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. PRECIPITATION MEASURED 2.82 INCHES,
JUST ABOUT AN INCH ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 1.99 INCHES. SNOWFALL WAS
0.9 INCHES, 3.3 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.

MARCH STARTED OFF WARM WITH THE FIRST 5 DAYS AVERAGING ALMOST 11
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. FOR THE REST OF THE MONTH TEMPERATURES
AVERAGED SLIGHTLY ABOVE TO BELOW NORMAL. THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE
WAS ON THE 14TH WHEN THE HIGH REACHED 69 DEGREES AND THE COLDEST
WAS 20 DEGREES ON THE 7TH.

ALTHOUGH PRECIPITATION AVERAGED ABOVE NORMAL FOR MARCH THERE WAS
NO SIGNIFICANT STORM DURING THE MONTH, HOWEVER THERE WERE A SERIES
OF COLD FRONTS THAT MOVED THROUGH THE AREA PROVIDING SHOWERS AND
A FEW THUNDERSTORMS. THE GREATEST SNOWFALL DURING THE MONTH WAS
0.9 INCHES ON THE 6TH WITH 9 DAYS IN WHICH A TRACE OR MORE OF
SNOW WAS REPORTED. THE GREATEST SNOW DEPTH ON THE GROUND DURING
THE MONTH WAS 1 INCH ON THE 6TH-8TH.

THE HIGHEST WINDS OF THE MONTH OCCURRED ON THE 6TH WITH GUSTS
REACHING 47 MPH FROM THE WEST AND THE 31ST WITH GUSTS REACHING
47 MPH FROM THE NORTHWEST.

A NEW DAILY MAXIMUM RAINFALL RECORD WAS SET ON THE 16TH WHEN
0.87 INCHES OF RAIN FELL. THE OLD RECORD WAS 0.78 SET IN 1946.

THERE WERE ONLY 5 CLEAR DAYS DURING THE MONTH WITH 10 PARTLY
CLOUDY AND 16 CLOUDY DAYS.
