WEATHERWISE DURING APRIL OF 2019 IN SHREVEPORT AND BOSSIER CITY,
LOUISIANA, WE RECORDED SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL RAINFALL WITH NORMAL
TEMPERATURES. THIS APRIL OBSERVED ATYPICAL QUIET WEATHER WITH ONLY
SMALL HAIL REPORTED IN THE NORTHERN FRINGES OF BOSSIER CITY DURING
THE MORNING OF APRIL 12 AND SOME TREE DAMAGE FROM THUNDERSTORM WIND
GUSTS DURING THE AFTERNOON OF APRIL 13 IN FAR SOUTH SHREVEPORT. ALSO
DURING THE MORNING OF APRIL 17, A THUNDERSTORM PRODUCED WIND GUSTS
THAT DOWNED TREES AND POWER LINES IN CENTRAL SHREVEPORT IN THE
QUERBES PARK VICINITY.

APRIL OF 2019 COMMENCED WITH A RATHER CHILLY START WITH THE HIGH
TEMPERATURE FOR THE 1ST ONLY REACHING 53 DEGREES. THIS 53 DEGREE
HIGH TIED THE DAILY COOLEST HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORD SET BACK DURING
1915. THE NEXT MORNING OF APRIL 2ND OBSERVED A LIGHT FREEZE AS THE
MERCURY BOTTOMED OUT AT 31 DEGREES AND BROKE THE DAILY RECORD OF 32
DEGREES SET WAY BACK IN 1881. THIS 31 DEGREE LOW ALSO TIED THE
MONTHLY APRIL LOW TEMPERATURE RECORD ALSO SET DURING THE FOLLOWING
DATES, CURIOUSLY ALL SET BACK DURING 1987: APRIL 3RD, 4TH, 5TH, AND
11TH.
