Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central for Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
427 AM CDT Thu Apr 25 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns remain low through the upcoming weekend as
two storm systems move through the area bringing recurring rain
chances and the potential for locally heavy rainfall amounts to
exceed one inch. Locally heavier amounts of closer to two to three
inches will also be possible, but confidence in where these occur
is low at this time.

Temperatures as a result of the increased cloud cover and rain
chances will remain on the cooler side, favoring the 60s each day
Thursday and Friday but falling to the 40s and 50s by Sunday. As a
result, humidity minimums are not expected to fall much with
either day likely seeing values remain above 50 percent.
Temperatures will quickly rebound next week to above normal
values, but questions about fuel status cast doubts on greater
fire weather concerns at this time.
