FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
415 AM EDT Tue May 14 2024

...Dry conditions continue today through Wednesday, then unsettled
afterwards...

.DISCUSSION: High pressure settled over Lake Superior keeps skies
mostly cloud free today and tonight before an incoming low from
the Northern Plains begins bringing mid to upper level cloud cover
over Upper Michigan Wednesday. That being said, expect conditions
to be fairly similar to what we saw yesterday, albeit with
temperatures being a little cooler today and min RHs a little
lower (mid to upper 20 percents in the interior west, and around
30 percent in the interior east Wednesday). With winds remaining
light (less than 15 mph) from the north and northeast/east,
respectively, expect limited fire weather concerns across the
interior west today and the interior west and east Wednesday.
While we may not make a full RH recovery tonight over the west
half, expect RHs to approach 100 percent over the east half. A
more rainy pattern looks to come over us Thursday as the low
pressure finally arrives.
