Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior
National Weather Service Marquette MI
1001 PM EDT Mon May 20 2019

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...Surface high pressure of 30.2 inches is across
the Great Lakes region, and will remain in control of the area
through late Tuesday night. By early Wednesday morning, a 29.1
inch low near the NE/SD border will traverse toward the Upper
Great Lakes, broadening out and weakening as it does so. By early
Thursday morning, this low will have weakened to 29.9 inches and
be centered over Upper Michigan. From this point onward, systems
will pass quickly through the region, with a 30.2 inch ridge
visiting overnight Thursday into early Friday, but then quickly be
replaced by a 29.5 inch low scooting just to the north of Lake
Superior late Friday into early Saturday. The next high pressure
of about 30.1 inches marches in for the latter half of the
weekend.
