747 FNUS51 KCTP 081122 FWFCTP Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central Pennsylvania National Weather Service State College, PA 722 AM EDT Wed May 8 2024 .DISCUSSION... * This update is to bring the dewpoints/RHs down even more and wind gusts up a little for the northern mountains this afternoon. Previous discussion follows: Showers and thunderstorms early this morning should move off to the east of the area shortly after sunrise. A dry cold front will pass through during the morning across the north and after noon in the south. This will drop the dewpoints/RHs. Minimum RH will dip close to 30 percent across all of northern PA, and get into the lower and mid 30s in the south. The old front will hang out near the MD border and may waggle to the north a little on Thursday and Thursday night. That will allow more showers and thunderstorms for mainly the southern tier of the state, but a few showers are possible N of I-80.
