  Little Sioux River at Cherokee affecting Cherokee County.

  Little Sioux River at Spencer affecting Clay County.

  Little Sioux River near Milford affecting Dickinson County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL LATE FRIDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Ocheyedan River near Spencer.

* WHEN...Until late Friday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 9.5 feet, significant amounts of pasture and other
  farm land begin flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 9.1 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 7:45 PM CDT Tuesday was 9.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 9.2
    feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
    flood stage late Thursday evening.
  - Flood stage is 8.0 feet.

* WHERE...Little Sioux River at Cherokee.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, the north bank of the river overflows.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 20.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 7:00 PM CDT Tuesday was 20.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will fall to 19.5 feet tomorrow evening.
    It will then rise to 19.6 feet early Thursday morning. It
    will fall to 17.5 feet Saturday evening. It will then rise to
    17.7 feet early Sunday afternoon. It will fall again but
    remain above flood stage.
  - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

* WHERE...Little Sioux River at Spencer.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, city sewers in Spencer can begin to back
  up. Highway 18 between Spencer and Dickens can start flooding if
  flows on the tributary creeks are also very high.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:15 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 12.1 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 7:15 PM CDT Tuesday was 12.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 12.4
    feet tomorrow morning.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
