High pressure remains in control of the persistent dry weather
across the forecast area, but the exception is radar currently
showing a couple of light pop-up showers to the south of the Lower
Keys. These showers are on track to remain over the waters to our
south.

Through the weekend, dry conditions continue to persist and skies
will remain mostly clear with high temperatures in the mid 80s
and lows in the mid 70s. As mentioned in previous forecast
discussions, guidance has been hinting at a slight chance for
rainfall sometime early next week. There is still low confidence
related to this as models little to no agreement with respect to
if, when, and where it will happen. Even with the lack of
confidence, it is worth mentioning this as it is the only
potential for any active weather on the horizon.

High pressure continues to dominate the weather
pattern in the area, allowing for gentle to moderate easterly to
southeasterly breezes to prevail through the weekend. Next week,
breezes veer around the clock from south to southwesterly on
Monday until reaching northeast to easterly on Tuesday. The
direction change will be quick, but breezes are not expected to
increase drastically.

VFR and dry conditions will prevail at both island terminals through
the TAF period. East to southeast surface winds will remain near 10
knots.

In 2013, the daily low temperature of 60F was recorded in Key West.
April temperature records for Key West date back to 1872.
