Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...The combination of high pressure centered over the
NE Gulf and relatively lower pressure in the western Gulf will
result in fresh to strong winds pulsing off the northwest
Yucatan peninsula during the next several nights. Similar winds
are also forecast in the western Gulf today. Otherwise, moderate
winds and seas will continue through most of the week.
