This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited lightning risk.
  Limited non thunderstorm wind risk.
  Elevated frost and freeze risk.

DISCUSSION...

There is a 20 to 50 percent chance for thunderstorms this
afternoon and evening. Gusty north winds up to 30 mph will occur
this evening through the overnight hours behind a cold front.

Temperatures will drop into the lower 30s by early Saturday
morning. Those with sensitive outdoor vegetation will need to
take the proper precautions.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Elevated fire danger will occur Saturday for areas east of
Springfield.

Wind gusts will increase on Sunday which will lead to elevated and
locally significant fire danger, especially east of Springfield.
Wind gusts will increase to between 30 to 45 mph by Sunday night.

Widespread showers and thunderstorms arrives Sunday night through
Monday. No severe weather is expected at this time however brief
heavy rainfall will occur across south central Missouri.

Colder temperatures arrive next week with morning low temps at or
below freezing Tuesday through Thursday mornings. Those with
sensitive outdoor vegetation will need to take the proper
precautions.

  Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.
