...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM EDT THIS MORNING
THROUGH THIS EVENING...
The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Beach
Hazards Statement for rough surf and a moderate risk of rip
currents, which is in effect from 7 AM EDT this morning through
this evening.
* HAZARDS...Rough surf and a moderate risk of rip currents.
* TIMING...from 7 am this morning through this evening.
* LOCATION...all east central Florida beaches.
* POTENTIAL IMPACTS...Rough surf will continue at east central
Florida beaches today. The rough surf can knock you down and
make you susceptible to being caught in a rip current. A
northeast to east swell will support strong rip currents at east
central Florida beaches again today.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
