DURING APRIL 2018, THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS LA CROSSE REGIONAL
AIRPORT WAS 39.3 DEGREES.  THIS WAS 9.8 DEGREES COLDER THAN THE 1981
TO 2010 AVERAGE OF 48.6 DEGREES.  THIS TIED 1874 FOR THE COLDEST
APRIL IN LA CROSSE WI.  THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT A MONTHLY COLD
RECORD HAS OCCURRED SINCE DECEMBER 1983.

THE AVERAGE APRIL 2018 MINIMUM TEMPERATURE WAS 28.4 DEGREES AT
LA CROSSE REGIONAL AIRPORT.  THIS WAS 9.5 DEGREES BELOW THE 1981 TO
2010 AVERAGE OF 37.9 DEGREES.  THIS SURPASSED THE PREVIOUS RECORD
FOR COLDEST APRIL AVERAGE MINIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 29.8 DEGREES SET
BACK IN 1874.

DURING APRIL 2018, 19 INCHES OF SNOW WAS RECORDED BY THE OFFICIAL
NWS SNOW OBSERVER NEAR LA CROSSE REGIONAL AIRPORT.  NORMALLY, ONLY
1.7 INCHES OF SNOW FALLS DURING APRIL.  THIS BROKE THE PREVIOUS
SNOWFALL RECORD FOR APRIL WHICH WAS 17 INCHES IN 1973.

THE AVERAGE APRIL SNOW DEPTH NEAR LA CROSSE REGIONAL AIRPORT WAS
1.7 INCHES.  THIS ESTABLISHED A NEW RECORD.  THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS
1.6 INCHES IN 1973.
