...A Fire Weather Watch is in effect from Thursday morning
through Thursday evening for gusty winds and low humidity for fire
weather zones 220, 222, and 225...
.Discussion...
Meteorologically, critical fire weather conditions are expected
across the San Luis Valley today, but green-up in fuels should keep
fire concerns low. Otherwise, spotty critical fire weather
conditions are expected across the district today. Then for Thursday
onward, more widespread critical fire weather conditions are
possible as a pattern change brings an increase to winds to the
region. Otherwise, showers and thunderstorm are expected to develop
today, with dry lightning being a concern, especially for areas
along and west of the I-25 corridor. Showers and storms remain
possible along the mountains Thursday through Saturday, with
potential for more widespread precipitation Sunday and Monday.
Smoke dispersion rates today will be Fair to Very Good for the
plains, and Excellent for the valleys and mountains. Rates Thursday
will be Excellent district wide.
